Hello Backers!

As it says in the title, its game time. The warehouse has unpacked all of the games and they will be shipping out this week!  (Some of you have already received your game!!)  So you can get ready, we have posted a how to play videos below. This is definitely one of those game that you should just get out and give it a try and not worry if you mess up a few rules when you start.

Howdy Folks and Happy New Year... (we can still say that right?)

We are so excited to announce that the FORTIFY cargo ship has officially docked in Los Angeles!  Next, the containers will be unloaded and the pallets will make their way to our warehouse hopefully by around January 25th, meaning that they will be checked in and start shipping out to you by the first week of February!  We are so excited for everyone to get their game and start some fort building/balloon tossing battles with their friends.

Please make sure to lock your address in Backerkit and remember it is still not too late to add an extra heavily discounted copy of FORTIFY for a friend.

Waterproof cards... FIXED and finalized... let's goooooo!

Hello Friends,

This update is a bit of a peek behind the scenes on what it takes to bring a quality boardgame to life! Before we get into it, games are officially done, palletized and are expected to hit the ocean in the next couple weeks. This will leave us with a delivery in Q1 of 2024. Now on to the fun details.

We will not chat about the Design...Prototype...Playtest... RE-Design... Artwork... Rulebook... Quoting... Payment... Shipping Final Production Proofs... as each of these steps are quite detailed and VERY important, but let's just say that AFTER you have nailed down all of these steps something is off with the final product... what do you do?!?!  That is where we found ourselves with FORTIFY.

Luckily, our issue was only with the waterproof cards and luckily we chose to work with a great manufacture (Boda Games) who helped us resolved the issue, but we wanted to include you on the adventure of what it takes to make a quality Board Game!

Long story short, after months and months of planning and design, we submitted our final designs to our manufacturer, and they made us some beautiful looking production SAMPLES.  We noted some slight changes we wanted made, and approved them along with a significant payment so the Manufacturing could begin.  One of these changes was with the Plastic Waterproof cards. The first version of the cards were slightly see through which would not effect gameplay but the bleeding of colors took away from the beautiful artwork that Kendall created. In order to fix this we tested a black core, instead of clear and the samples looked great!

[quick note: short run manufacturing that is used in SAMPLES or any Prototype game components is made with different card stock, ink, machine operations...!  The only way to get an idea of what the final Mass Production product will look like is to... well Mass Produce 1000+ copies of that product!]

So, when our final Mass Produced products of FORTIFY arrived for our final approval everything looked AMAZING.... except for the waterproof cards!

As you can see the cards on the TOP Row were simply too dark and we could not deliver a product to you amazing folks that was not the best darn version of FORTIFY possible.  So we immediately got in contact with Boda Games (again who was great to work with), explained the issue, they tested out some options, and Mass Produced the amazing final versions on the right for us.This lost us an additional 6 weeks while we found a solution, created the products and sent us the samples to approve.

All in all we could not be happier with the final product (Bottom Row), but wanted to give you a peek behind the scenes a bit into "Making a Game", and also explain why this game has been delayed.

As we said above FORTIFY is being packed into Shipping Containers and will be loaded aboard a Ship headed to the USA and we could not be happier and more thankful to you wonderful folks!  Thank you for your patience and your support!

**NOTE** please double check your shipping address as we will be finalizing addresses and charging for shipping costs on Friday this week

FORTIFY is getting on a Boat!

Howdy Folks, 

This may be a quick update, but it is our favorite one!  FORTIFY has completed production and very soon it will hit the ocean on the long voyage to your game table!  While we don't have exact dates yet on when it will arrive, you can expect this as a great belated Christmas present.  While you are in the coldest part of the year you will be able to look forward to a little summer!  What are boardgames if not a way to do what we can't in real life.
